Technical committee membership carries with it an obligation to participate actively in committee work through contribution of

technical information, prompt reply for comments on draft reports and ballots, and attendance at committee meetings. 

Committees are normally limited in size.  New assignments are made only when vacancies exist.  Committee members are

chosen as individuals, not as representatives of industries or groups.  Personal experience and ability are the most important criteria.
